Olly is a material based sculptor and installation artist who has their hands in many pots, alchemizing and stirring—allowing slow time to seep into everything they do.
They shape-shift, melt, and morph mediums—blending collage onto clay, creating fires of wax puddles, layers upon layers, finding power in charged objects from their own childhood and other’s to serve as conduits/plinths.
A sentimental bricoleur at heart, Olly is always finding materials around them that one could consider detritus. They collect bits from experiences in small bags or vials, thrift, and hoard an amalgamation of things as they know that a whole has many parts. They are a fat trans powerhouse who worships play, old trees, borrow pits, slop, making a mess and the deep excavation of all our parts as a way to heal and transform in this binary bleakness.
